Details

A brand new Turbo using new components.
Very good quality and the supplier has had very few warranty issues in the years they have been selling them.

We first fitted one in 2013 and its still going strong now after 30,000 miles at time of wrting.

As this is a new outright unit, there is no surcharge to pay.

Now, the important bit…

It’s good practice to replace the oil feed pipe to the turbo. The turbo gets hot and transfers this heat to the oil feed pipe. When the engine is turned off the oil stops flowing, oil is left in the pipe. The heat from the turbo can bake the oil onto the pipe, which is fine but once you disturb the pipe to fit a new turbo you dislodge the baked oil flakes and they end up in the bearing housing of the turbo which will subsequently damage it. If this happens and the turbo fails it will be obvious on inspection and the warranty claim will be refused.

At the very very minimum the oil feed pipe is to be removed, cleaned and inspected and blown through with compressed air, to avoid any warranty issues its better to replace with new.

It is also good practice to remove the oil return line and check it for obstructions, to make sure oil has every chance to drain from the turbo away to the sump. If the return line is blocked or kinked the oil will have nowhere to go and will cause hot oil to sit in the turbo, which isn’t good for the life of a turbo, and will likely result in premature failure.

There are fitting notes supplied with the turbo, they are to be read, understood and adhered to, failure to do so will result in turbo failure and no warranty claims will be accepted as once the turbo is returned it will be obvious as to why it has failed.
These notes include instructions to change the oil, oil filter, and air filter.

We feel we must also add that any warranty turbos will have to be sent away for inspection. There will be a certain downtime whilst it is sent away, stripped and inspected as to why it has failed and almost exclusivley has been a pre-exsisting egine condition that has caused it to fail be it low oil pressure or contaminated oil.

Please understand this before you commit to buy.

If in doubt – ask.
