Zinc plated steel plate designed to sit perfectly in-between the ribs of a plastic or metal engine lid and to be riveted into place providing a neat, tidy safe, quiet solution to whats normally a nasty looking "bodge" of a job to give clearance for protrusions resulting from engine conversions such as LDA on AAZ conversions or alternators on TDI conversions.
Plate is supplied with the required rivets and a sound deadening pad to stick over the offending area when you have done.
Don't worry Westy owners, when fitted, the plate and it's sound deadening pad will raise the lid by about 2-3mm so you can be safe in the knowledge that your nights sleep won't be disturbed by a lump in your bed!
Rough dimensions can be given, but in's not rocket science to get it in the right place, simple drill 4 big holes, one in each corner then jigsaw between, place the plate on, mark the drill holes, drill through and rivet into place, easy!
We tend to use a bit of sealer between the plate and the engine lid to stop smells from the engine bay working their way into the van, then we stick a self adhesive sound deadening pad on the top.
10x 4.8mm rivets (you will need a rivet gun to attach)
self adhesive sound deadening pad.
