Fitting AAZ engines was once a popular engine conversion carried out to the T3

When we had the workshop we had fitting AAZ’s down to a fine art! One of the annoying problems we faced was making the throttle linkage work properly and look acceptable.

These levers are designed to mount to the injection pump, doing away with the double spring assembly that these pumps are normally fitted with (to reduce cable stretching) to allow more room above the engine to aid lid clearance.

They are made from 3mm zinc plated steel, so they are very strong and have a tough coating that should stay looking great for years to come.

The cable holder bolts directly to the pump head using original bolt holes, there are several versions of these pumps and the kit has been designed to fit them all, however some shortening of bolts needs to be carried out on some pumps to create a tight fit.

The throttle lever itself utilises the ball joint from your now defunct throttle damper (useless anyway!) to connect to the throttle cable.
The lever has a small amount of adjustment in it to save grovelling about underneath adjusting the cable for full throttle.

AAZ – 1.9 TD, indirect injection.
1Y – 1.9 Diesel, indirect injection.
GTD – 1.6TD from Golf/passat etc.
M-tdi – a Direct injection engine normally controlled by ECU by converted to mechanical.

Basically models with a Bosh “VE” pump.
Does not fit Lucas pumps.
