Now, this gasket, it’s a bit of a quandry. VW say to use 052121091A however it doesn’t fit correctly as the holes in the flange are offset slightly.

This gasket as you can see in the picture has offset holes and the extra tang to identify it from the other oval gasket

This is the correct offset gasket to fit the aluminium housing on the end of the cylinder head that connects to the heater hose
